Green Mountain Technologies (GMT) designs state of the art composting facilities around the globe. They have done so for more than twenty-five years. GMT has more than 30 municipal and commercial compost facilities ranging from 3,000 to 200,000 tons per year that have been efficiently composting curbside collected yard debris, food waste, biosolids, and agricultural wastes.
Green Mountain Technologies needed a software development team that could future-proof its integrated hardware and software compost control system. The original system was built using older technologies. By using modern web frameworks and technologies, GMT could scale their systems for global adoption.
Solution
We’ve worked with GMT for years to develop custom software for embedded hardware, remote monitoring applications, and calculators for compost recipes. We designed a completely new version of the control software and user interface based on feedback from previous versions.
By architecting clean boundaries between configuration concerns and application features, the new software was able to deliver a customized package for each compost facility which performs reliably and requires minimal effort for each new project.
Since the initial completion of the new WebMACS version, GMT has delivered customized systems to multiple compost facilities and implemented numerous additional features that were not previously available in the product. Customizations can now be delivered more quickly and with fewer technical issues than before. Our collaboration with GMT has resulted in a stronger product with better support, which allows them to serve and satisfy more customers.
